Walking with your dogs strengthens your bonds and gives many precious memories. . Agility equipment and ample
opportunity for running and swimming are right outside our door. For leash walks, there are miles of snowmobile trails,
a short walk from the property. .

Toy dogs need special care as they would anywhere. I have large dogs and I'm protective of them as we have Bears and other
animals in the neighborhood.
We have Eagles. My dogs are size large and extra large, and even they are terrified of the Eagles. I've had two Eagle encounters.
On a leash walk with my Griffon, she started acting strange. Instead of heeling, she kept trying to get between my feet
(practically tripping me). I looked up and an Eagle was circling overhead. Another day, my two dogs raced down to
the beach to find an Eagle sitting at waters edge. They went from full speed to sudden stop and actually walked backwards
to get away inconspicuously. If only I had brought my camera.
Leash walks are fun because we do see wildlife. Walking the dogs I have seen deer, fox, beaver, rabbits. I was in my car,
but I saw a Moose on the street one day. And there is the occasional bear sighting. Last month I saw a Woodpecker that looked
about two feet high. Definately I know that I have left the city. It is a neighborhood of five acre lots mostly and every
property has dogs. Most properties have two dogs and a few properties have three or more. They are all great dogs and
make up a nice dog community. Let me list the breeds for you on my street.
3 Maltese, 2 German Short Haired Pointers, a Lab and a Shepard, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, 3 Neufs, 5 Chinooks, 1 Toy Terrier
and 1 Golden Retreiver. And a new Golden Lab puppy. And my 1 Komondor and 1 Wirehaired Pointing Grifon.
And in the middle of all the dog properties, we have the Ackerman Farm complete with horses, cows, goats, Turkeys, chickens
and who knows what else! The animals enjoy visitors who are always welcome. All last summer, we had a cow that got loose and
outwitted his would be capturers. Another day I found a litle pigmy goat in my driveway that had gotten out. Never a
dull moment!
It is a dead end street. Run away cows and goats always get returned safely.
